Tahoe Donner News is a high quality, glossy magazine
produced by the Tahoe Donner Association. It is designed and printed with
state-of-the-art technology and presswork. This quality will present your
business' advertisement in Tahoe Donner News in the best possible manner.
To ensure this quality, all advertisements must be converted
into digital format before Tahoe Donner News goes to press. If you require
services for digital advertising artwork preparation, please contact your
advertising account executive for references. Tahoe Donner Association
does not provide advertising design services.
Digital artwork for ads must be sent in either PDF or raster
(TIFF, EPS, or Photoshop) formats. Tahoe Donner News is produced in a
Windows-based format.
The following are the requirements for advertisements
to be ready for press:
PDF File
Quick tips for making perfect PDF files.
1) Ensure image files used in your native application are set-up in a
CMYK color space (grayscale if your art is for a black and white ad) and
image files are at least 300 dpi at final print size.
2) Don’t use Truetype fonts. Use Type 1 fonts only. And don’t
use Type Styles in your native application.
3) Ensure the layout in your native application is correctly sized.
4) When making your PDF file:
a) Don’t use image compression.
b) Embed All Fonts
c) Leave color management unchanged.
Raster formats TIFF, EPS, or Photoshop Files
Quick tips for making perfect raster files.
1) Ensure file is set up in CMYK color space (grayscale if your art is
for a black and white ad) and is at least 300 dpi at final print size.
2) TIFF files: don’t use LZW compression and save as IBM byte order
format TIFF.
3) EPS files: save with 8bits/pixel preview and Binary Encoding. No Halftone
Screen, Transfer Function, or PostScript Color Mgmt selected.
4) Ensure TIFF and Photoshop files are flattened and do not contain Type
layers.
CDs, zip disks or e-mail transfers are accepted.
